The Nature of Being Human- A Souljourn with Inspiration

Nature Connection, Art, Storytelling and Creating Community

Friday - Sunday
September 29th -October 1st, 2017
4pm - 12pm

Lakes Basin, Plumas National Forest

[One hour north of Truckee]

Connection with nature and feeling our place within it’s cycles is food for our soul. We use the creation of art to guide us to a deeper understanding of our soul’s desires. The process of creating has always given the human a sense of purpose and meaning.

  • During this nature immersion weekend, you will have the opportunity to hike and enjoy the land and lakes as a group and also have solo time where you can derive greater clarity regarding the purpose and meaning in your life.
  • By noticing and utilizing what inspires you in Nature, you will bring back your stories to a community that supports your soul journey. Your experiences and stories are celebrated and mirrored back to you. Surrounding yourself with the wisdom of nature and community support can nurture openings you might not have thought possible.
  • You will have time for creating art based on your inspirations and experiences.
  • We will co-create a nature mandala together and will be doing creative process through writing, drawing, and journaling.
  • Creating art in and with nature can be a beautiful way to nurture yourself and connect with each other as you will have a platform to share a piece of yourself with each other. Fall Creative Group ~ The Four Agreements
October 12th – December 14th, 2017

9:15am to 11:30am

For Goodness Sake, Truckee

“With the Four Agreements you can change and heal your belief system, to improve your relationships and your life in every way. The book is like a map; but first, because it’s a map, you have to start with awareness of where you are and where you want to be.”

- Don Miguel Ruiz

For years, Arts In Wellness Creative Groups have provided a forum that fosters personal reflection, creative inspiration, and significant growth. Participants find that the accepting and supportive environment allows them to discover their unique pathways to creativity while bearing witness to others’ creative exploration. “The depth of awareness and connection achieved in the Creative Group is quite remarkable” says one Creative Group alumnus, “one that must be experienced to be truly understood.”

This fall we will be reading The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz – a small but rich book. We will be studying how these Four Agreements are interwoven on a conscious level into our personal, family, and community lives. As we read and discuss each chapter we will be doing creative processes on the weekly topic through drawing, painting, and collage. All supplies are provided and no prior experience required.

Creative Completion Group

October 2017 ->

  • New group starts in October 2017
  • Shares online via a private Facebook page
  • Meets in person four times a year in the form of an inspirational field trip

Creative Completion is about ACCOUNTABILITY. Participants are invited to pick a project that they intend to complete and come up with a strategic plan and timetable for getting the project done. Projects can be anything from estate planning, small home remodels, or learning a language, to finishing a painting – anywhere creativity comes into play (which is basically everywhere!). Hurdles and challenges are all part of the creative process, and acknowledging and overcoming these is easier with encouragement from the online group support.

Art inspired by and created in nature by Andy Goldsworthy

by Brooke Bishop

“A creative life is an amplified life. It’s a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life. Living in this manner—continually and stubbornly bringing forth the jewels that are hidden within you—is a fine art, in and of itself.”
