Creative Group Immersion
Thursdays, June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th
9:30am to 12:30pm
North Tahoe Art Center, Tahoe City

This five week course is an intensive version of the spring and fall 12 week Creative Group sessions. It is especially for those who label themselves as "un-creative" or "creatively challenged", or have any trepidation to explore unlimited creative possibilities.

We will be following the book Walking in This World by Julia Cameron (an oldie but goodie!). The reading, exercises and homework (fun homework!) invite a true commitment to personal development, and the structure of the group is intimate and strictly confidential. Be ready for a full month creative nurturing!

Each session will begin with group discussion based on the reading, followed by two hours of creative application. You will get to experience a new medium every week: drawing, watercolors, collage, acrylics, and multimedia. Supplies are available though you are welcome to bring your own. Each participant is responsible for purchase of the book and required reading of the chapters as the weeks unfold.

This is a wonderful and fun opportunity to actually step into the world of original creative expression and celebrate yourself as a creator by birthright - and perhaps even an artist!

Card Making with an Artistic Flair
Saturday, June 25th
1pm to 4pm
North Tahoe Art Center, Tahoe City

Why pay for greeting cards anymore? In this class you will learn the simple technique of making your own cards and turning them into individual pieces of art, small gifts to be posted to our friends and loved ones. The instructor will guide you through the simple process of buying materials and making the cards, and show you several techniques ranging from encaustic wax, to melted crayons, to collage, to photographs; using repurposed materials that you throw away every day! Everything is provided but we recommend you try your decorations from the following list for more powerful and personalized designs: personal artwork, old greeting cards, and photographs.

"
I highly recommend the Creative Group journey (so much more than a class) to anyone who wants to find new ways to explore their own inner processes in a safe, productive, extremely enjoyable environment. It does not matter if you are blocked or prolific, the class is an opportunity to expand from exactly where you are."

"The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them"

“A creative life is an amplified life. It’s a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life. Living in this manner—continually and stubbornly bringing forth the jewels that are hidden within you—is a fine art, in and of itself.”

― Elizabeth Gilbert
